This palette perfectly kicked off the unofficial start of summer.
Hello & happy almost summer vacay!
June’s color crush is all about chambray, orange, and polka dots. Initially, my pieces lacked compatibility but by the end of the month, I curated a capsule I was sad to see go.
I’m not sure where I got the idea for the light blue & orange combo, but suddenly I was in love the way these two colors played off each other. This palette perfectly kicked off the unofficial start of summer, and represented the best parts of the season: warm days, cool nights, with plenty of bright spots in between. Chambray is also a great substitute for denim in the summer, because it’s light & breathable.
The color orange was especially important to me this month for an additional reason. June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month. Although unplanned, I was more than happy to wear orange to honor my former student who lost his life to gun violence last October.
For the month of May, I wore a lot of stripes & palm print. You may have noticed that a few stripes made their way into June as well! This capsule, however, also includes yet another fun print: polka dots!
I love a subtle dot print, one with lots of bright white space & a smattering of circles, like the pretty silk scarf I found for 50% off. Anytime I’m in need of a retro, but dainty detail, I tie it around my ponytail and head out.
Y’all know I have an earring obsession, and this month – between some old favorite and two new additions – I had so many options!
