Happy December lovelies!

My friends often marvel that winter is my favorite season. But with so many reasons to dress up, how can you blame me? During this season, however, it’s easy to buy party wear for one time use. Even the tiniest bit of forethought, though, goes a long way! A couple of months ago I came across a fall wardrobe checklist, published by Liz of Sequins & Stripes. One of her interns created a printable graphic and I loved it so much, I decided to do one too. This holiday wardrobe checklist is for anyone who wants versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched year after year. Simply bring this graphic to the store and check off each of your new purchases as you curate your party capsule.

The Dress

Everyone know that a good holiday dress is enough to put you in a festive mood before you’ve even left the house. Go simple and chic in a LBD, or don a velvet number for a more luxurious feel. Make a statement in a sequin mini or a shimmer and shine in a metallic maxi. The options are endless. Although dresses make for an easy outfit, I am obsessed with its sleeker, more practical, and overlooked cousin – the jumpsuit. I love love love this satin one and can’t get enough of this long-sleeved beauty.

Festive Tops

Generally, I have a hard time finding blouses that fit my bust and stay tucked in, but festive tops are a must-have for any party capsule. A few years ago, I rediscovered the bodysuit and haven’t looked back since. Grab yourself a velvet one for a smooth look with a luxe finish. I love this pretty blue one (also available in plus sizes). Pearls are trending this season, sequins are always fun, and of course, no holiday wardrobe would be complete without iconic plaid.

Knits

If you’ll be bracing the crisp winter air this year on the way to your holiday festivities, a good knit will keep both your temperature and your spirits high. Layer your look with an on trend and cozy fuzzy or chenille knit. (See a roundup of my favorites here). Don’t forget to grab a sweater with a classic Christmas print, for all those ugly sweater parties. Unfortunately, my picks are too cute to win you any contests.

Party Pants

Need I say more?

Skirt

Two years ago, I didn’t own one skirt that fell below my knees and now, I own seven. I jumped on the bandwagon late, but if there ever was a spokesperson for coming around on the midi skirt, it’s me. In a recent post, I styled a pleated midi and raved about how much I loved this piece for the holiday season. If your look is more of a neutral palette, opt for a metallic one, or go bold and purchase a velvet one in a vibrant jewel tone. I love this one and this option that comes in two colors for curvy ladies.

Shoes

Happy feet make for a happy me and I have no shame in adding more glitter, glam, velvet, and bows to my deserving toes. Below I shared fancy heels, haute ankle boots, and adorable flats. I want to note it was incredibly difficult not to buy ALL of these while rounding up my favorites for you.

Outerwear

From festive blazers to fur coats, this year’s selection of outerwear is as endless as it is luxe, chic, and cozy. One or two (or more) is a must-have for to complete your holiday wardrobe. I love this gorgeous green velvet blazer. If, however, you’re bank account is still reeling from your Black Friday & Cyber Monday purchases, try this this dreamy one for fraction of the price.

Accessories

Finish your look off with tassel earrings, a clutch, and dainty cold weather gear.

Here’s to hoping you enjoy my holiday wardrobe checklist even more than I enjoyed making it! Thanks for reading!
