Hey ya’ll!
As you may know, I mentioned in a prior post that in leiu of resolutions, I thought it would be more realistic and more genuine if I set monthly goals for myself. I’m sharing them here as a way to remain accountable given that my procrastination and perfectionism often get the best of me.
Healthier Living I’m aiming to cook one dinner per week. I know it seems crazy that I actually need to make this a goal, but the struggle is real! I expend an incredible amount of physical, but more importantly, emotional energy each week. Working with teenagers, is rewarding, but exhausting! Generally, I am so tired during the week that my evenings consists of an unhealthy amount of take-out, microwaveable or pre-made food. Poor eating only serves to feed into my chronic fatigue and I have to start fighting back, even if it is only a very tiny jab.
Decrease Work-Related Stress Each year, teachers must submit an electronic portfolio of ‘evidence’ that proves our students have made academic progress and that as educators, we have shown proficiency in a number of professional indicators. This year, my deadline is in April but I this month I hope to sort through some student work, update my contact logs, and upload some evidence now instead of three months in the future.
Share More with You! In other words, I want to post on a regular basis because I love sharing with ya’ll and always get bummed out when I’m not able to put my ideas for content into practice. As of late, I have been at my most productive on Sunday afternoon, so I’m hope you’re ready to add Into the Wardrobe to your list of Sunday night reads. With that being said, welcome to the first ice cream conversations of 2017! Below you’ll get the scoop on my daily looks, my favorite current sales, and more!

I’ve been wearing this ribbed turtleneck sweater with everything from distressed denim to mini skirts this winter and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Also this rose gold mesh watch is under $100 and is the perfect minimalist piece to finish any look. It’s from an Australia based company called Valor Watches and for a limited time only you can use code KRYSTYAJAY to get 20% off and free international shipping!
I love accessorizing a simple winter look with cute accessories. My embroidered pom beanie sold out fast but is part of an adorable line of embroidered hats, gloves, and scarves that you’ll love. This scarf is under $30 and this pair of over the knee boots I wear at least once a week, is a fraction of the designer price, and has a surprisingly comfortable 3-inch heel. Purchase either and receive $10 off with code SUP25!
I first saw this scarf on McKenna Bleu and knew I had to have it. It’s under $40, huge, cozy, and has all my favorite winter colors. It also pairs quite nicely with the velvet watch the beau bought me for our one year anniversary!
I am in love with my new snow boots and honestly could not have been more excited by this weekend’s events. Rest assured, I am taking these cuties out for a spin today. There’s a foot of fresh snow calling my name.
This shot is from a photo session I did with my sister when I was home in San Diego. The shoot didn’t go as expected, and I’ll probably do it again sometime within the next two weeks but my sister got some close up shots that were to die for and this was one of my favorites. I love mixing textures and velvet continues to add an unexpected twist to my daily looks.
As you can see, I can never get enough red or plaid in the winter time. Plaid pairs well with virtually anything and red is the perfect pop of color against a monochromatic landscape. (Also can Starbucks bring back their holiday cups?!) Buffalo plaid is a seasonal classic and this scarf for under $25 is no exception. This one is under $35, ships free and has almost the exact same pattern as my favorite plaid button down from J.Crew (see here)! I’ve already added it to my cart.
This weekend Boston turned into a Winter Wonderland. All that snow had me dreaming of wintry neutrals and I thought I’d share some inspiration with you. I linked several of my favorite finds below, like this cozy basketweave sweater dress (bottom) that I have three versions of and is available in four colors including a very versatile camel.
I’m also getting very excited to share some Valentine’s Day related content with you soon. Until then shop my picks (perfect for a date night, brunch out with your favorite gals, and gift ideas) here! As always thanks SO much for reading and I hope you have a blessed week!
