In January, Hayet Rida shared on Instagram stories several day dresses that I was immediately obsessed with. (She has the most fantastic eye for structure. This dress that I can never wear enough of was a last summer purchase inspired by Hayet.) Several years ago, when dresses + jumpsuits with front cut outs were gaining popularity, I grabbed this piece + this piece. Although I love them both, camouflaging my bra – which is an absolute must have for supporting my chest – was always annoyingly tricky. The dresses Hayet shared however, all had a cut out in either the back or the side + I could not get over how subtle, yet sexy this detail was, as well as far more practical for me.
Unfortunately most of her purchases were too far out of my budget to justify, so I had no choice but to wait until more pocket friendly retailers released their versions of these feminine frocks. I just knew this trend was going to blow up and I am so glad it has! She has since shared that Zara has the most wonderful selection but, below, I also rounded up 30+ cut-out, vent dresses from other retailers.
