This month’s capsule is clearly a contender for favorite yet. I love wearing yellow and my clothing rack is the dreamiest array of sunshine, with a dab of mint, blue, and pink. (I also started to add some old favorites for next month’s capsule and I’m swooning extra hard.) This past Wednesday, I put together a look that included every hue in the color crush. I got so many compliments that after work, I decided to squeeze in a quick shoot before sundown. Read on to get more details!
The Look: Yellow Coat & Tweed Mini
Mini skirts are my jam and in the winter, I love rocking one with black tights over fleece leggings and ankle boots. When I saw this tweed mini on sale in January, I purchased it without hesitation. The pattern has the the best combination of spring pastels ever and, paired with my white boots and a turtleneck, is tres 70’s Parisian chic. (Get a better look at this cutie here.) My turtleneck is now only available in black, but this sweater – in a similar style and color – is a steal at under $12!
Recently, I shared a post on spring coats to wear now and later. This blazer-style yellow coat was one of the two purchases I made and has become a quick favorite. I love the softness of the pastel yellow and the crisp structure. This coat is not thick or bulky – perfect for spring – and I can’t wait to wear it with my Easter dress. The over-sized fit, however, means it’s roomy enough to layer with as I ride out the rest of winter in New England. (For reference, I’m wearing a petite 10.)
Accessories
I bought this pink scarf for last month’s capsule, and the color is to die for. It’s bright, vibrant, and pairs seamlessly with yellow and mint for a spring ready combo. It’s under $20, but be warned: this scarf sheds. I love it so much, though, it’s worth a little extra pink fuzz. My Matt & Nat round shoulder bag my mom gifted to me for Valentine’s Day last year (thanks mom!) and I linked a similar one here and here.
