Ten Lace Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Happy Sunday loves!

Today I’m talking the details of this bright yellow number I’ve been loving all spring, what I look for in the perfect lace dress, and summer wedding wear!

Let me start by saying that I love the color yellow! Even when I was a little girl, yellow was my favorite color; it instantly lifts my spirits, and has the added benefits of brightening other folks’ mood too! This spring (if you can call the weather we’ve had in Boston that), I’ve been extra obsessed with this sweet hue and have added some fantastic pieces to my closet including this lace contrast collar dress (also available here), these low-heeled summer sandals, and of course, yellow pom earrings.

The Look

I love this dress for a number of reasons; the crochet lace, the white underlay, and my forever obsession: the contrast color. The dress also comes with a lined bodice, hidden back zipper and clasp closure. Even though the brand is LA based, it tends toward UK sizing. I would suggest sizing up for a more comfortable fit and length.

Y’all know how much I love a cute handbag, and this adorable straw ‘Korilakkuma’ crossbody is no exception. When I first saw this bag last spring on a Modcloth flatlay, it was love at first sight. My hunt led me to Amazon, which had this one and several variations, but it sold out before I could decide on which to purchase. You can imagine how excited I was, about a month ago, when I stumbled across it here.

I’ve worn these sandals at least once a week since purchasing them a couple of months ago, and I can honestly say they are one of the most comfortable pairs I own. I have incredibly flat feet, so most summer sandals have too little support for me to wear them for long periods without pain. These sandals, however, are only two inches high and I’ve had no issues wearing them for a full day of work in which I’m on my feet for several hours at a time.

Wedding Wear

Aside from workwear, I also love that this dress can easily double as summer wedding attire. Although a lace dress is generally formal, a splash of seasonal color adds a level of sophisticated playfulness. The wrong cut, however, can appear too somber for the occasion. I tend to gravitate toward open, more spacious cut work like the one above and I rounded up a bunch of swoon-worthy lace crochet dresses below, all perfect for a guest at a summer wedding.

I’m seriously crushing on this ice blue off-the-shoulder dress and am waiting with bated breath for it to come back in stock. Which is your favorite? Tell me in the comments! Also find all of the details for this look below and let me know if you snag any of these pieces. I would love to twin with you! Happy Father’s Day and as always, thanks for reading!
