The Cutest Summer Cami Dress, with Shein

This summer cami dress from Shein is perfect for vacation & your wallet!

Happy Tuesday!

Can y’all believe we’re already half way through August?!

Yesterday, was my last day in San Diego. I’m super bummed that my vacation is already over, but glad my fam spent all of Sunday & Monday hanging out together. We looked at a potential new house, laughed at Ant Man & the Wasp, and shot looks for the August color crush capsule.

Every time I come into San Diego, I pop by my one of fave stores, Pigment. When my mom, sister, & I discovered this store April of last year, we couldn’t believe how much we had missed out on! Pigment is the most darling place to splurge on pretty plants, decor for your home & office, and even cute clothes. The whole place is sectioned by hue, which is a color connoisseur ‘s paradise. As a bonus, it’s home to the most adorable pink striped wall.

Summer Cami Dress

I purchased this dress from Shein (for only $15) in May, when the color crush capsule was stripes and palms. It comes fully lined and has a double v-neck (one in the front & back). You may recognize it, because I also  purchased an identical cami top and last summer, a blue version (seen here). When I decided on pink & green for August, I couldn’t wait to wear it in front of this wall!

As you may know, I love Shein. Often when I tell people it’s where I buy some of my most liked pieces, they’re surprised. Online reviews aren’t favorable but I’ve found that over time, the quality of their clothing & customer service has improved. Admittedly, shopping there can be a hit or miss. For the prices, selection of prints, and range of sizes, the risk is worth it, and significantly lower if you follow a few general rules.

How to Shop at Shein

  1. Know your measurements.Generally, Shein letter sizes are not the same as US ones. I’ve learned to, instead, prioritize the listed measurements for each piece. My most non-negotiables are the bust & shoulder, and on these, I don’t compromise. (Unsure how to take your own measurements? Read this.)
  2. Stick to tops & dresses.Occasionally, I’ve bought super cute skirts from Shein (like this one) but unless you’re petite (5’3 and under), ill-fitting bottoms are the norm.
  3. Read the reviews. Folks who leave feedback are honest and tend to post photos as well. I rarely buy a piece that has no reviews or pics attached.

Following these guidelines, I find that I love about 90% of my purchases from Shein. (This is compared to 65-70% when I first started shopping there.) The other 10% I simply send back, especially now that returns are free! Below I linked my current color crush inspired faves from Shein.

If you’re taking a last minute vacation before the season ends – or even planning a get-away for the winter – snag this sweet summer cami dress! It’s super affordable, easy to pack, & even easier to wear!

As always, thanks for reading!
