Today, I’m sharing the cutest spring coats you can wear both now, and later.
Happy Spring Equinox!
As unbelievable as it may seem, winter is actually my favorite season. I can sit around for hours bundled up in a cozy sweater, snuggling under blankets, with a good bowl of Miso soup or Ramen. I love how pretty everything looks covered in freshly fallen snow and I even enjoy tramping around through unplowed piles in my snow boots. Every year, though, I always get a hankering for the warmth of the sun around the second week of March. Now, almost four snowstorms later, I’m feeling extra antsy. Winter is clearly making herself comfortable, and quickly becoming that annoying friend who tends to overstay her welcome. I need my roommate spring to come home and politely tell winter to leave, but she’s running on CP time.
Wear Now & Later
Currently, the scarf, boots, coat montage feels stale and though a lightweight trench coat or denim jacket is appealing, both fail the winter practicality test. I overcompensated this moth by purchasing yellow sweaters, tops and dresses in every cut imaginable, but after Nor’easter #2, I wanted a more substantive piece. If I couldn’t see the light at the end of this wintry tunnel, I decided to be it. I searched for a bright coat to continue keep me warm, without the bulk (for an easy transition), and made me smile.
I settled on the quilted jacket pictured above and this crepe coat, which I’ll share more about later this month. It comes as no surprise that both are yellow, given it is my favorite color, and I am obsessed with them both. This bomber is so bright and fun. Here, I’ve styled it for later with Keds & and an equally vibrant casual yellow tee. It also works just as well for now. Earlier this week, I paired it with a light blue scarf and sweater, yellow earrings, and white ankle boots. (My bus driver gave me a compliment that made my morning.) While searching, I saved my favorites to share with you below. With one of these, you, too, can look like April when it feels like January.
