Happy WorkWear Wednesday!

I used to think my favorite decade from which to draw style inspo was the 70’s. Give me all the mod jumpsuits, shift dresses, turtlenecks, mini skirts, & block heeled ankle boots! These days, however, I find myself more & more drawn to the patterns & fabrics of my early childhood. Whether it be nostalgia for a time when my mother footed the bill for my fashion habits or an affinity for the lyrical artists of that era, the 90’s is quickly emerging as an equal fan favorite. (See my favorite look from last season, a callback to none other than Notorious B.I.G., here.)

Although my to-do list has about one trillion and one items on it, I couldn’t wait to share the details of this look any longer! I decided to take a work & school break to post about this 90’s inspired fall work wear essential: these plaid pants from Express.

These pants are both simple, yet stylish. The cinched paper bag waist is figure flattering, and I love a good bow belt. The print, an iconic grid pattern, has subtle red & peach cross hatching. It’s subtle enough for many workdays to come, with enough color to take the pressure off the other parts of your outfit. I chose to rock them with a black bodysuit, boots, & a hat for a sleek look that puts all the focus on these cuties. Lucky for y’all, Express has tons more plaid pieces where these came from.
