The Capsule
October’s color crush began as a capsule of autumn neutrals: ivory, & camel. I added navy and a few orange pieces from September; I liked the orange & blue combo from June so much, I knew I’d love it with deeper hues. But when it was clear the capsule lacked my usual flair, it was time pull out all my favorite cheetah print pieces that I stored away at the end of the fall/winter ’16 season. This CCC felt most appropriate for someone with an office job, where attire ranges from business casual to casual Friday. This capsule included two dresses, three skirts, five sweaters, & a handful of other essential tops and bottoms such as turtlenecks, denim jeans, & work pants. It has been the first capsule that I felt was basic enough to truly mix & match for a month, without feeling as if I was wearing the same five outfits every week. I mean, it is also hard to feel boring with a pair of cheetah print boots, pumps, or flats on your feet.
