Festive Tweed for Under $30

Hello!

Last month, I had all these plans (as always) about the sweet content I was going to drop on y’all this month. But to be honest, I’m finally coming to terms with the fact that while I’m simultaneously teaching & working thru this master’s program, I can’t really do that, and it’s perfectly okay!

In lieu of elaborate gift guides, I decided to focus on creating just a few, fun holiday looks that incorporated both new & old pieces. First up: this tweed dress for under $30 paired with a four-year old coat, my favorite beret from last winter, & an old handbag!

I cannot tell a lie about these red bow suede flats though. They were a Cyber Monday purchase that I absolutely do not regret! The pearl detail is to die for and bonus: they’re currently 40% off with code WRAPITUP.

The quality of this dress totally surpassed my expectations, especially given the price! The material is thick & heavy – perfect for feeling dainty yet warm during a frigid winter day in New England. One con of this fabric, however, is that it has no stretch and given only a one button neck closure and no zipper (which I’m personally fine with) you may want to size up. I’m wearing a L for reference.

Full transparency: I haven’t washed it yet, but I would suggest a delicate cycle in a mesh laundry bag and a line dry. I love the frayed edges, and wouldn’t want them to catch and unravel on the agitator of a top load washer or on other articles of clothing.

The last, and possibly most important, detail about this dress is that it comes in a tiny under $20 duplicate perfect for your mini-me! I originally planned a matching look with my goddaughter, but I ordered a size too small and couldn’t get the proper one here in time! *Insert crying emoji.*

For reference, my goddaughter is five years old and generally wears a 6X. The 130 – the sizing is comparable to the EU – was tough, however, to get over her head (she has an adorable large dome) and without any stretch, wasn’t giving on her little belly. I’ll pop by with an update when she tries on the 140 and 150. (Interested in other (god)mommy & me outfit ideas? Check here.)
