As many of you know, most of the country has been experiencing scorching heat waves for the last couple of weeks. Last Saturday, however, the temps dropped down to a blessed 70 degrees, and I took the opportunity to take a stroll in the most perfect LWD. A few months ago I ordered this two piece gingham number from Chicwish but sadly, found that it didn’t compliment my frame the way that I had hoped. If you don’t already know, Chicwish is an online store for those interested in curating a wardrobe of various lady-like, vintage-inspired, quirky pieces. Although I had to pay for return shipping, Chicwish typically offers store credit that includes both the original price and shipping fee. After much deliberation – everything is so cute! – I purchased this dress. As soon as I took it out of the package, I knew I was in love. This dress is the perfect length; the fabric is a beautiful, whimsical pattern that I must say, my inner math teacher is loving, and the waist line is figure flattering. It comes with a back zip closure and is body lined. Disclaimer: The lining is sheer, so I wear nude undergarments.
I was inspired to do this look by Thamarr of Musings of a Curvy Lady. She posted a look featuring a similar dress, strawberry collar pins and a matching wicker purse. I haven’t been able to shake the idea of doing something similar with my own flair, and it seemed as if the stars aligned to help me acquire each accessory in this look. Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a sucker for all things involving summer’s favorite fruit. I purchased this watermelon clutch early in the summer on a whim, I wasn’t sure how it would fit into my eclectic wardrobe, but I knew it had a home with me. If you follow me on social media you may have seen that I recently obtained my Massachusetts driver’s permit, and as a reward the Beau encouraged me to splurge on the world’s cutest boater hat from Target’s WhoWhatWear collection. I honestly think I’ve worn it everyday for the last week. It’s out of stock online, but there were plenty in my local store. I highly encourage you to check.
