Today’s color crush inspired roundup includes all things lemon print! Citrus is, unsurprisingly, on trend this season and I’m in love!

Hey babes!
It’s been awhile! To be honest, while much creative effort has gone toward my and Josie’s new Instagram account, I’ve had little left for the blog. This is due less to the work inherent in nurturing a new community, but more an uneven distribution of the precious resources that are time and energy. March is typically a difficult month in the world of education, being by far the longest and without breaks. Snow days provide a superficial reprieve, as even while relaxing, I wonder just how many of my students are also kickin’ it in bed. Unresolved personal conflicts have added another layer of everyday stress, and both grad schoolwork and teacher evaluations loom on the horizon. Additionally, my sister and her best friend are coming to visit, and my apartment looks something akin to Dorothy’s house after the tornado.
Yet somehow, today I’ve managed enough energy to treat myself to an after school snack of pepperoni and fancy crackers, and my first home-cooked meal in a couple of weeks. (Cereal doesn’t count right?) Suddenly I have hope to bang out a quick blog post, even though I have class in just an hour and a half. Amberitious -as the beau likes to say – of that I’m sure, but what’s the point of wishing for motivation if you don’t do something with it when it comes. I can only thank God for His perfect timing. He knew that today I needed, self-care, in the form of nourishment and productivity.
Color Crush
If you follow me on social media, you may know this month’s color crush capsule includes yellow and mint. Initially, I didn’t post at the start of the month because I was perfectly, incandescently happy with my purchases from last spring. Then, Mother Nature dumped a foot and a half of snow on New England and with my newly acquired time, I decided pop by my favorite online retailers to search for a transitional piece or two (or three, or four). Due the late nature of new additions, I will do an Instagram Roundup of all my looks and picks at the end of the month.
Lemon Print
While browsing all the yellow items I could find, I came across so so many adorable lemon print pieces. It was spring of 2011 when Stella McCartney wowed the fashion industry with citrus print pieces, and a decade later this trend is still going strong. (Check out the lemon print look from end of summer 2016.) Although I generally don’t love fast fashion, retailers such as ASOS, River Island, & Forever 21 are churning out some of the seasons cutest fruit printed pieces at wildly affordable prices. Given this pattern’s longevity, I always grab a lemon print piece or two when I see one. Today, I rounded up the best color crush inspired lemon print pieces for now and later. Almost all pieces are under $100; in fact most are under $50! Quite a few pieces are also available in sizes for curvy babes. I included several in the widget below.
